The seventh annual IEEE Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (IEEE CASE 2011), sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), will be held from August 24 to 27, 2011, in Trieste, Italy. IEEE CASE represents the flagship automation conference of the IEEE RAS and constitutes the primary forum for cross-industry, multidisciplinary research in automation. The goal of the conference is to provide a broad coverage and dissemination of foundational research in automation among researchers, academics, and industry practitioners.



The main theme of the CASE 2011 is the innovative and promising applications of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in the automation and process management. The conference will focus on the benefits of the application of the ICT tools in science and engineering of automation. Particular attention on emerging application fields such as logistics, intermodal transportation systems, sustainable healthcare systems and disaster management.
